Bus 52 is heading across the US, capturing the stories of innovative organizations doing good in their communities. AWOL, Inc Founder Tony Jordon gives an overview of the organization's work with at-risk youth in the Savannah, GA area. It's heartening to hear Jordan speak about the social and technical function of the arts. By "focusing not just on the things students are attracted to, but on the things that will help them become productive citizens in society", the program harnesses the transformative capacity of poetry and hip-hop. Kudos to this dynamic org, and thanks to Amy Chin from Bus 52 for sending this video along.
