The Population Council

This year’s World Population Day theme is ‘universal access to reproductive health services.’ Sigourney Weaver narrates this explainer video from the Population Council, which  includes the research the organization has been doing to increase access to maternal health services in Kenya. The Population Council’s impact ranges from collaborating with governments on health initiatives to implementing local strategies, including the creation of safe spaces for young women and innovative HIV-prevention programs. Weaver presents a modestly-toned but earnest ask for support, articulating the successes and challenges of health and development.
