The Power of Parks | 2:00
This video highlights an innovative AIDS/HIV awareness campaign. Mix FM, a hip radio station in Brazil, created two online videos, and each time someone watched either on the Mix FM Facebook page, the video automatically posted to the viewer’s Facebook wall. They were using a harmless virus to grab people’s attention about a different, very harmful virus. Besides being an effective campaign, the project raises questions about ends justifying means when it comes to innovative awareness messages. Facebook had to shut the virus down, and while it was harmless, it was an invasion of online privacy. Manipulation for a good cause?

Today is National HIV Testing Day. Be safe, use protection, get tested.
