The logic is impeccable: hockey depends on ice, and ice depends on water. Aspiring players and fans look to their heroes and teams and when a sports league takes a stand on the conservation of fresh water, that stance has far-reaching influence.  It’s a great push for environmental consciousness, drawing on the humbling, picturesque figure of a lone figure in nature practicing to become better. NRDC is teaming up with professional sports to reduce their environmental impact through purchasing decisions, transportation choices, energy use, and waste management policies.
