Ghosts of Cité Soleil takes us into Haiti before the earthquake of 2010, to a world of political unrest as violent and chaotic as the physical upheaval to come. This film follows two brothers, Winson ’2Pac’ Jean and James ‘Bily’ Petit Frère, who are leaders of the Chimères (Ghosts) one of the most violent gangs in Haiti. The year is 2004 and a governmental shift has the gangs working as enforcers, but two different views on life take the brothers in opposite directions. Politics, poverty, international outreach, and stunning personal stories make a very unique and honest film about life, choices and what defines a person.
